Judaizing Forbidden

Pope Nicholas IV signed a papal bull entitled Turbato Corda, forbidding Christians to convert to Judaism. Any Jew caught “Judaizing” Christians were subject to heavy penalties – one of many asymmetries enacted by the Catholic Church to ease the passage of Jews into Christianity but block their – and any other Christians’ – way back.
