Scottish inventor John Logie Baird demonstrated the television in his London laboratory. Baird named his invention ‘televisor’, a composition of ‘distance viewer’.  The innovative device used mechanical rotating disks to convert moving images into electronic impulses which was then shown in a low-resolution pattern. The world’s first TV show introduced two ventriloquist dummies talking. Baird animated the dummies himself.

The first TV station was called W3XK and it aired its first broadcast on July 2, 1928 in America.
