Jerusalem
Zecharia the prophet, son of Berachia prophesied that Jerusalem would be rebuilt. In the second year of Persian emperor Darius the Great, Zacharia called on the exiles who’d returned to Zion to settle down and rebuild the Temple. The mystical visions he described as portents of these achievements include a rider on a red horse followed by red, sorrel and white steeds, who tell how peace reigns over the earth. The most famous of his prophecies depicts a golden menorah fed by olive branches, read as the portion from the Prophets on Hannukah and a number of other Sabbaths during the year.
