Blaming the Jews

Kaiser Wilhelm II

December 2 1919 – 10 Kislev 5680

Former kaiser Wilhelm II wrote to Field Marshal August von Mackensen, blaming “the tribe of Judah” for Germany’s defeat in the war. “Let no German ever forget this, nor rest until these parasites have been destroyed and exterminated from German soil!” he added. Wilhelm advocated gas as the “best cure” for Jews and mosquitoes alike, though thousands of his Jewish subjects had fought and died for him in World War I. Such statements show that the Nazis weren’t the first to accuse the Jews of stabbing Germany in the back, causing all its losses.
