A Behemoth in the Library

“Biblioteca Ambrosiana,” the second public library in Europe, opened its reading room.  Located in Milan, the library has long served a valuable repository for documents pertaining to the Jews of Italy, including the richly illuminated Ambrosiana Bible, completed in Ulm, Germany in 1238, with fascinating depictions of Ezekiel’s heavenly chariot.
