Luther’s Last Will and Testament

Martin Luther, by Lucas Cranach, 1529

February 15 1546 – 13 Adar 5306

Three days before his death, Martin Luther preached his final sermon in his native city of Eisleben in Saxony, repeating sentiments from his last treatise, On The Jews and their Lies. He called the Jews “public enemies” who constantly blaspheme against Christianity, would gladly kill all Christians if they could, and added that Jews who murder Christians often do so under the guise of doctors.
